Fancy Paperdolls

Hi,
I'm Jennifer Jo. Fay.  I'm an alumni from the Maine College of Art.  I'm 43 years old.  I had my birthday yesterday.  My kids got me chocolates and my girls helped me eat half of them.  I've got four left.  I've made lots of paperdoll sets and I finished writing a murder mystery called Black Roses.  It is my first mystery novel.  About five years ago, I started writing my first large novel.  It was a romance called Lustful Evangelean.  It took me about two years to write.  I'm still editing that one.  I had a local editor evaluate it and it needed work.  I shoved it away for a year and didn't work on it.  I had a low point and thought, "What if I never publish it?"  I worked on some other potential novels for a little bit and took a local writing class.  The class was held by Sarah Bartlett and was in Burlington in her new writing class location.  The class was called Women Writing for a Change.  It was all women writing from diverse lifestyles.  It was a great class.  I took the class for several years and worked on my Lustful Evangelean story.  Then I took a break and just worked on my paperdolls for a while.  Last year, I got back to writing and began with an autobiography about myself which is mostly for my children to read when I'm older.  It's about what their father did to me and they shouldn't read it for a long time.
Then in November, I started writing Black Roses.  It was great as it was all fresh material and I kept writing without the presence of writer's block.  I wrote it all by hand in a pretty pink journal.  I wrote it when I went to work at Marshalls too.  I worked on it during my breaks and before I started working.  I brought it to Macdonalds too, as I started working there for one or two nights a week.  I finished the book in December and then from Dec. to January I typed it up on my kids computer and then printed up copies.  During that phase, I also did some editing to it.  I started to send it out to six publishers.  At that point I decided to self publish and in February I got the process going with AuthorHouse.  I'm self publishing Black Roses and two of my paperdoll sets.  Bun-Bun and Olga Paperdolls and The Housewife Paperdolls.  Bun-Bun and Olga is a kid set.  Bun-Bun is a bunny and Olga is a puppy.  They go through Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, Christmas and Art School.  They're really sweet.
The Housewife is a sexy set.  I'm very excited about getting them published.  They will be available in three months at Barnes & Noble, Amazon and twenty other places online.  I will need to do the legwork to get them actually in the stores.  I'm going to get a book review in the New York Times and other publicity for Black Roses.

Black Roses is a racy murder mystery about a stripper/prostitute who starts getting black roses and threat letters in her mail.  Then all her johns start getting murdered.  It's a fast paced plot with lots of sex in it.
Then on the other hand, my paperdoll sets are sweet and geared to children.

Jennifer
